Our name may be new, but not our history. Bally Exhibit builds upon a legacy of informed design that began with the launch of Bally Design in 1972. Founded in the belief that the individual interactions of the end user drive a successful design, Bally creates award-winning products for a breadth of national and international clients.
Fast forward to 1991. Bally applies this same user-centered design approach to interpretive environments for science and art museums, history and nature centers, parks, trails and visitor centers. Today, Bally Exhibit is a dedicated design firm specialized in developing rich, immersive experiences using innovative, creative and practical solutions.
To put it simply, we are storytellers. Whether told through interactive technologies or informative graphics, the heart of an exhibit is its content. Bally Exhibit puts this story at the forefront of the design process, creating emotional and intellectual connections between the visitor and the message. Content drives the design, both in physical forms and in visual presentation. Words, images, sounds, and hands-on interactions work together, resulting in an entertaining and educational experience that engages its audience in a meaningful way and deepens their understanding of a subject. Because, in the end, the exhibit experience is about people— developers, architects, designers, specialists, fabricators, funders, visitors of all ages and backgrounds, the community—and their personal connection to the story.
Beginning with an interpretive plan and an overall architectural concept, Bally Exhibit guides the story through the design process discovering the most effective and appropriate methods for its delivery. The early phases of a project focus on the thematic approach—how best can this story be communicated to its audience? Many possibilities are explored encompassing a wide range of technologies and design techniques. Bally Exhibit’s process centers the exhibit space, its message and its audience around all project decisions. Architecture, lighting, graphic design, and digital media are all thoughtfully considered and integrated into the space. The later phases of a project involve the technical implementation of the design vision, the fabrication of the exhibit elements and its final construction and installation. Bally Exhibit’s proven approach takes the complexities of the exhibit design process and makes them simple, transparent and easy to navigate.
