The design challenge at this visitor center was to communicate and clarify the mission of the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). As a division of the U.S. Department of Energy, NETL is solely responsible for the development of clean energy technologies based upon fossil fuels.
The client chose to communicate and display all content with a variety of flexible, digital displays. The 1600 square foot exhibit space divides content themes into a series of highly versatile, interactive electronic presentation centers that include: a multi-display introduction kiosk, interactive touchscreen walls, both a small 3D theater, and a larger main video theater, a geophysical interaction center, and satellite images of energy consumption.
